It took a second for Éponine to respond; it was just that she could swear she could actually see hearts when he spoke, and sometimes she had to be sure things were real, and not just her seeing or hearing things.

They certainly seemed real enough. She wasn't going to dig too much deeper into the thought, then. Instead she just smiled, and waved her glittery little light-up wand at him.

"I won't say no to that, monsieur. I don't know that I've tried it before, but see if I'm not game to find out!"

Perhaps her voice was too rough to suit the costume well, but there was nothing to be done about it.
