Mostly Just Weird, Not that Creepy Mansion on Phoenix Way, Sunday Evening

Yet another full moon at the mansion! This was going to be completely normal, right? A certain mansion-appropriate version of normal, anyway. Right? That was what Mike was hoping for, although his optimism had been waning lately, for a few reasons.

But right now, he still had snacks and was sprawled on the couch, flipping through channels on the TV. If things were going to get crazy, they weren't there yet.

It was a pretty small difference, but considering people at worst came in right through the door (Kitty), it was one Mike noticed.

Also, having been warned Stiles was going to be different probably played into it too.

"Did you just knock?"

"Um yeah?" Stiles said, not finding that too weird. "What, is this some alternate universe where knocking is illegal?"

Mike shook his head. "Nah, I'm just not used to it, 's all." He shrugged. "People tend to kind of come and go at their will."

"Don't really think we know each other well enough for that," Stiles said with a shrug. "Especially now since I technically don't know any of you."

"Yeah, I heard." And please forgive for eyeing Stiles just a little warily as a result. Just a little bit. "How are you holding up with that, Stiles?"

[robinonadderall]

Stiles shrugged. "Been a werewolf for two years, an alpha for almost one. Used to it by now."

[newroutines]

"I, uh, mostly meant being here when you don't technically know us," Mike told him, sheepishly. "But, that's good to know too."

Although also weird.

"Sorry, I'm a little weirded out right now. You'd think I'd be used to it by now, but nope."

[robinonadderall]

He shrugged. "Don't really get what's so weird. But I promise not to do anything creepy."

"And I do know you guys," he said. "Just not as well as the other Stiles, apparently."

"Well, I promise I'll try not to be creeped out," Mike replied, trying for a little joke there. "Also, dude, you don't have to knock."

[robinonadderall]

"I'll keep that in mind," he said. "I don't think Derek wants me around much though."

[newroutines]

"Regardless." Yeah, Mike wasn't touching that topic beyond that. Nope. "If you do happen to come by."

[robinonadderall]

"Thanks," he said. "You still own the house then?"

[newroutines]

"Yep, still do." As much as that sometimes felt like it had been a bad idea. Sometimes. Not often. "So, don't break anything."

[robinonadderall]

"I'll do my best." Actually human Stiles had more of a chance of breaking stuff than werewolf Stiles.

Mike might have even realized that if he'd actually given it some thought. But he was just trying to live with the weirdness right now.

"Okay," he said. "Thanks." There was an awkward pause. "Oh, and if there's anything you need, just ask, okay? 'Cause you might not know us as well, but we still know you."

[robinonadderall]

"Thanks," Stiles said with a smile. "You're being much nicer about this than everybody else."

[newroutines]

Mike offered up a faint smile and shrugged a shoulder. "I think I just have less at stake." In some ways. "Also, way less to be stressed out about tonight."

"Don't worry about it," he said. "If Derek gets out of control I can take him."
