Party!!!, Purposefully Creepy Mansion, Friday Evening

It was Halloween and that meant one thing: there was a party at the mansion.

Okay, it probably meant more than just one thing, but for Mike? Yeah, that one thing was the most important one. Kinda trumped everything else. Unlike last year, he hadn't had help from April, so the level of overall gore and genuine creepiness was a little lower. But there were still Jack O'Lanterns outside lighting the way to the house, and bat cut-outs and balloons in the shape of ghosts and skulls all around the house, and creepy looking candy on the snack table.

And a bloody goblin in the fridge.

Maybe Mike missed April a little bit.

Mike was dressed as a police officer. A sleeveless police officer, but a police officer all the same. Yes, the hat dated back to his stripper days.

He also had a tray with jello shots on it. No, they weren't all for him.

Kitty was all over any holiday that let her dress in costume. This year she was Leanna from Space Battles only in whatever the meta of that costume is, and mentally writing a letter to the costume companies about how all the adult dresses had slits in them.

Pinkie was here, wearing her squirrel costume, complete now with a fedora with "press" on the side and her notebook.

It was possible she hadn't taken that squirrel costume off all week.

Éponine hadn't had a chance to get together a costume, to tell the truth -- not that she'd forgotten about the holiday, but in between the beginnings of the holiday shipping season and the fact that the post office was up to its metaphorical ears in candy this week and it was all she could do to keep the damned stuff from overrunning the building she just hadn't had the time.

She had gotten hold of one of those headbands with rabbit ears on it, though, and she would absolutely spin that as a costume if she had to.

Irene wasn't usually much of a Halloween person, but this year she'd made an exception. It helped that her costume was adorable, if a little...poofier than she'd usually prefer.

She was totally prepared to shoot little foam arrows at people all night, too.

After buying some costumes for... personal use, Clint had settled on a farmer's costume. It was shirtless, because he knew his audience, but hey, a plaid shirt and jeans and boots were pretty comfortable as far as costumes went, so he couldn't complain.

Hatter hadn't really known what Halloween even was until one of his employees had told him. So, he'd thrown together some sort of costume that, sadly, required leaving his hat at home.

He was an intrepid explorer! Or something.

Tons of moddable snacks and beverages in both creepy and non-creepy varieties. Also, jello shots, including creepy as well.

And a ton of candy.

Jackson was wearing a pair of red dollar store devil horns. The kind that were stuck on a headband for ease of wearing. No, they hadn't been his choice, but they were what Mike had stuck on his head when he'd shown up without a costume on.

They were very shiny.

He didn't think he'd stick around for very long. But while he was here, he was eating some snacks.

Emma was still in her sock hop costume (and still being plenty bitey about it), so Jack went with the inevitable and picked out a matching costume.

The fact the marching costume involved little beyond putting on a leather jacket and a white t-shirt and slicking his hair up had influenced his choice only a little.

He hovered near the food, trying to stop Emma from diving whiskers-first into the punch as he claimed some Jello shots.

What Éponine was doing wasn't dancing, exactly. She'd had maaaaaaaaaaybe a few too many jello shots by that point in the evening, and was vaguely swaying back and forth just out of one of the shadowy corners and humming along with the music under her breath. No, the fact that she didn't know all the words didn't stop her; she just substituted random bits of French songs that she did know for the parts she didn't.

The result was a bizarre sort of mishmash that made no sense, but after that many jello shots, let's be real, she didn't care if it made any sense.
