Remember When It Used to Be Creepy? Mansion on Phoenix Way, Saturday Morning
Mike had a fuller house this weekend than he'd anticipated. And you know what? He was okay with that. He liked having his own space but it could get a little lonely, too, and stress had been piling on him over the last while, between doing repairs for the shark damage on the house and trying to keep his business on its feet.
So even if there'd been more supernaturally enhanced pairs of ears in the house than would've been ideal for a night with a lady visitor who wasn't going to be in town for long... Mike was really freaking happy. He knew all of this was fleeting – Brooke would leave, and so would his assorted werewolf-adjacent friends – so he was just making a point of enjoying himself as much as he could while it was all happening.
And since he was a good host, he'd wandered into the kitchen in his sweatpants and his ratty tank and was making breakfast. A whole ton of it. Eggs and bacon and toast, the whole lot. Coffee, too, of course. And yes, he had at least half an intention of bringing Brooke breakfast in bed, but that remained to be seen.
It was a good morning out here at the mansion.

"Do you need help?" he asked, already getting together a cup of coffee for Stiles on autopilot.

No one came around much these days. Let him overdo his breakfast stuff, okay.

"Hi, I'm Brooke," she said, holding out her hand.

"Let's just go with 'banging' for the moment," she said finally. "How do you know him?"

Someone had to ask these things. And that someone was Mike.

Also he had a long history of sleepwalking that didn't even involve murderous foxes most of the time.

"Aww, hey, breakfast was gonna come to you." He didn't sound like it was much of a tragedy, though. "I just got stuck making, like, a ton of it."
no subject
"You are the best," she said, giving him a hello kiss. "Need help?"
no subject
"Nah, Derek's on the pancakes and I've got everything else going," he said, after he'd done that. "There's some bacon and eggs and coffee ready if you wanna get started, though."

But when he came to the kitchen, he looked rested. And apparently like he was the only person who gave a crap about what they looked like, because he was already dressed for the new day.

"Okay please tell me you're not wearing some fucking Hugo Boss shit to breakfast?"
no subject
"And risk getting pancake grease on something actually valuable? No." So it wasn't Hugo Boss, then. "Sorry if I don't feel like dressing like a hobo, though. Fandom or not."

Rude, but his tone was more bored than outwardly hostile, so... Progress?
